The Power in Simplicity
In this article, Jules Acree shares her story on how shifting to minimalism has directly and positively impacted her quality of life.
What Jen + Jill have to say:
Jill loves how this article highlights the impact of a minimalist mindset on financial wellness. At its core, unlearning consumerism helps you reclaim your power and rebuild confidence in your purchasing decisions. Jen also appreciated how the article emphasized that frugality and minimalism give you a sense of power and control over your money, making informed choices even more empowering.
Another mindset focuses on staying in tune with core values. Jen explains that it’s no longer just about getting the best deals but about identifying what truly matters to us and prioritizing those things as much as possible.
Where Less Stuff Means More Life
Minimalism also allows us to invest in our future, new learning experiences, community, relationships, groups, volunteering, and hobbies that are meaningful to us. Jill explains that with less focus on buying, we have more time and money for the things that truly matter.
Moreover, it can improve our efficiency so we can get more done. Jen adds that when we take a more minimalist approach, we want to do less. Jill totally relates—she’s willing to pay for efficiency, but she also knows that minimalism can cut down the need to pay for it in the first place.
The Overlooked Side of Frugality
One aspect that doesn’t get talked about as much in the frugal space is giving back—the concept of generosity. The more you evaluate your spending, the more opportunities you create to put money toward what truly matters. And that includes giving back to your community.
What's an area you struggle to maintain minimalism (or identify your enough?)
In Jen’s home, there’s too many toys and not enough kitchen gadgets. While in Jill’s home, there’s surprisingly too many cups but not enough decor.

This is such an amazing book!! I only have great things to say about it. Where do I start? Not only does it feel like you’re with friends, but they give great ideas, life knowledge, and tips that I can actually apply to my life on a daily basis. I’ve listened to these gals for over four years on podcast and they have definitely changed my life for the better. It is well worth the money and it’s true what they say that you get what you pay for. I am so excited to have added this book to my library and I will use it as a resource for years and years to come. I’ve also bought it as a gift because I know it works. Get the book you’ll be so glad you did and it’s a fun read too!
