Top 3 Ways to Decrease Your Internet Bill

Hi, friends! 👋

Have you wondered where you could create room in your budget without cutting out your favorite subscriptions or services? We have!

Housing, transportation, and food might be the top 3 places to save each month, but there are other places we can cut back if you’re not ready to make a big change.

Our internet, cell phone bill, and utilities are flexible and oftentimes take just a bit of research and a phone call to save!

Lower internet bill = keeping salon service. 💅

🌐 Top 3 Ways to Save on Internet

1. Shop around. There are dozens of internet providers to choose from – even rural areas tend to have at least 2 service providers. Do your research and use a website like this one to compare services.

💡 Another great way to shop around is to take advantage of promotional deals. These can come in the mail, through the radio, or even as bundles (i.e. internet + cell phone service). Especially when moving many internet services will offer steep promotional credits for 12 – 24 months!

2. Negotiate. One phone call can mean a wealth of savings for you. Internet providers are often flexible – willing to extend promotional credits or match another service’s package to keep you as a customer.

Remember to be polite & come with a plan to increase your chances of success! I (Kim) personally saved $35 a month by calling my internet provider and asking for an eighteen month extension on my promotional credit.

💡Check out “How to Negotiate & Save Lots of Money” (Ep. 339) for great tips on how to do this!

3. Downgrade. Do you spend most of your free time with family, in nature, or outside the house? Consider downgrading.

If you don’t use a lot of bandwidth or speed while you’re home, you might not need as much internet as you’re paying for. Try monitoring your internet usage for a month or two and determine if this is a good option for you.
