Makeup on a budget: How to get a flawless look without breaking the bank
This article by BuyMeBeauty shares ways to buy makeup when you’re on a budget.
What Jen + Jill have to say:
Doing your research, such as browsing through articles and knowing your best colors that fit you before buying, is a must. But Jill recognizes the frustration of the trial-and-error process of finding what works for you, so spend time reading reviews and comparing similar products from different brands. Scale down your makeup products, whether or not they’re versatile; at least they’re simplified. For instance, your concealer can be used as a highlighter or the blush as an eyeshadow.
If you are someone who enjoys and loves makeup, then use these tips in other places so you can have money to buy makeup. Jen advises you to decide what you want and let that be enough. Do not forget to check the expiration dates of your makeup, and do not allow yourself to be tempted and fall for any of the marketing tactics.
Best drugstore makeup products
This article is listed by Reviewed Hosts drugstore make-up product recommendations.
What Jen + Jill have to say:
Jen mentions checking out Byrdie and Reviewed, as they do in-house testing for makeup and beauty products. Also, consider checking Temptalia, which has all of the name brands and drugstore shades of make-up, and it will tell you what the color of the product is.
Although Jill would swear by foundation and lipstick as her only makeup, Jen compiled an Amazon list for both of their makeup recommendations at frugalfriends.com/makeup.
Current holy grail makeup
Jill goes for a lipstick that works on her skin tone and polishes her eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil. Jen is all praise for her tinted moisturizer, SmashBox’s Halo Healthy Glow, and Revlon ColorStay Suede Ink in the shade, Hot Girl.
