How to Make Values-Based Spending a Lifestyle

Hey Friends!

Let’s be honest: financial stress is real.

72% of Americans say that it’s one of the top stressors in their lives.

And in a world of too much cortisol and not enough rest, values-based spending is needed now more than ever.

So how can putting in the hard work with your finances help in other areas of your life?

Values-Based Spending: Life Outside Our Finances 👛

Values-based spending helps eliminate decision fatigue. When you have a plan for your finances, it eliminates the minutes or hours of back-and-forth on whether you should purchase something. When our choices are streamlined, we’re able to prioritize the choices that matter (like applying for that job!) and avoid-second guessing the good decisions that we’ve made.

Spending with purpose helps reduce physical stress symptoms. Having a plan for your money helps you know where you stand with your long term goals, which diminishes the stress response and helps reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and chronic pain.

Lastly, values-based spending helps build good habits. It takes effort to get to a point where you can spend in alignment, and this practice sets the tone for other habits in your life. From eating healthy & exercising, to practicing daily mindfulness – the building blocks of habit are the same: repetition.
