🛏️ Our Guide to Purchasing New Sheets
Bedsheets often need replacing every 2 years. So if you’re in the market now, we’ve got some tips for you!
1. Know the three main categories of sheets: cotton, linen, and flannel. Cotton sheets are made from cotton plants, linen comes from flax, and flannel is produced from wool. Each sheet has its own strengths.
-
☁️ Cotton is a softer sheet to lean into after a hard day.
-
🧵 Linen is a strong sheet that will hold up against the craziest kiddos.
-
🧣 Flannel is warm & perfect for those -30 winter nights.
2. For a luxurious feel, look for cotton with long or extra-long staples. Our favorite Frugal Hack is to search “hotel bedsheets” and filter by those with long staples. Now that is affordable quality!
3. Consider environmental impact of a purchases. It might be tempting to get an alternative sheet, like bamboo or microfiber, but studies show that cotton & linen sheets have a lower economical footprint. Looking to repurpose old sheets? Use in a paint studio or donate to an animal shelter!
4. ✨ BONUS: Need to ALSO save $ on your cell phone bill? Give Mint a try! Mint Mobile is an MVNO network without the pesky overhead fees that brick-and-mortar stores have. Right now, get unlimited talk, text, and internet for $15 a month! **
