Hey 👋
Can you believe we’re a quarter of the way through the year?! It’s true! Which is why it’s the perfect time to evaluate our 2025 goals.
Our greatest goal? Getting more of what we value, for less money.
Pinpointing the things that matter most and identifying how we can get more of those things can help us meet our needs without breaking the bank. We’ve found the 4 F’s (Family, Friends, Faith, & Fulfilling Work) to be a great place to start!
⭐ How to Enjoy the Four F’s for FREE!
1. Family. 🏡 Find yourself missing your loved ones recently? While hopping a plane to visit is the answer sometimes, there are plenty of free alternatives to try before jet setting.
Check out our examples below:
-
Schedule a call or video chat with relatives (keyword: schedule).
-
Do you have paper or unused cards in your house? Write someone a letter! It’s so fun to get mail that isn’t bills.🙃
-
Interact with games like Trivia Crack, Words With Friends, or Scrabble Go for a fun digital activity (and some healthy competition).
-
Got a recipe you’ve been dying to try? Host a family cooking challenge! Judge via which is the most aesthetically pleasing over video. 🍝
-
Exercise together! Post pictures of walks, do a yoga challenge, or even see who can squat the most. 💪
2. Friends. 👭🏻 Listen, chips, queso & yapping is awesome, but there are other ways we can engage with our besties without dropping $40 on a meal. After all, what we value is quality time in their presence 🫶
-
Start a book club! Pick a book that’s at everyone’s local library (tip: less popular/older = better odds).
-
Take a free online class together. Are you really besties if you’re not learning Intro to Stats together?
-
Have a Netflix watch party!
-
Learn viral dances & see who performs better. 💃
-
Make each other a Spotify playlist. Confirm you have the dominant playlist & best taste. 💯
3. Faith. 🙏🏻 Connecting with your faith doesn’t always mean donation. Consider these:
-
Spend time at church, mosque, synagogue, temple, or shrine with your thoughts.
-
Gratitude journal for 3-5 minutes daily.
-
Meditate.
-
Enjoy a public conservatory.
-
Listen to a self-help book from the library (check out my (Kim’s) favorite in our weekly checklist below!).
4. Fulfilling Work.✨ This doesn’t have to mean the place we earn our money, there are other ways to experience fulfillment in what we set our hands to.
-
Volunteer: homeless shelters, animal care facilities, gardening, you name it!
-
Write the story you’ve been daydreaming about. 🖊️
-
Go to a networking event through your workplace (land that dream job!).
-
Start a side project with tools you already have.
-
Take online classes to develop your skills.
