In a much affordable price than they have been in the past, Jen recommends investing on a programmable thermostat. Make sure to caulk your windows, skylights, etc. Apart from utilities, Jen thinks baking is a great activity to do at home for winter.
Jill advises to keep on trying a few different utilities, to compare and identify your savings. You should also check on your air filters and see if they’re clean. The most important is to dress appropriately for the season–layering clothes is a great way to spend less on winter clothing.
The Wisdom of Winter: Rest & Renewal
What if in the areas that we can control and bear influence on, we were able to embrace a little bit more simplicity and stillness? This Everviolet article references the wisdom of winter which can be a great time of rest and renewal for us– a simplification.

Explore ‘Hygge’ which is a Scandinavian concept of coziness and the convivial feelings associated with a deep sense of contentment and well-being. Jill wants us to use this as a time with family, and friends and even replenish ourselves.
While Jen thinks this is an ideal time to slow down our pace and catch up on all the rest we missed throughout the year by sleeping. Let’s allow ourselves to do less and take time.

I just wanted to say that I totally felt "seen" while listening to the podcast on Kakeibo when Jill said that cash was easier for her to spend more freely because it's not necessarily tracked and there's no record of it.
I have been feeling this way for years now and have never heard anyone else 1) say this or 2) sum up my feelings so precisely! I am thrilled to know that I am not alone. Even if it's only me and Jill that feel this way. Ha, ha! That said, I almost never have actual cash on hand which means I don't spend much of it anyway . . .
But when I do finally use that random $5 bill in my wallet, what a carefree feeling! Keep up the good work, Jen and Jill!
